My take on
Skills For Real Engineers (mattpocock/skills) after testing the
tdd skill with Claude Code:
- โ
It changed how the agent worked. Claude Code wrote one failing test, then the code, four times in a row. I checked its session: each red and green run really happened.
- ๐งพ The result was small and correct. 5 tests, 13 lines of code, and the leftover penny handled on purpose.
- ๐ฃ๏ธ It's honest. It told me one test passed on the first try, so that test didn't really drive any code.
- โ๏ธ Installing is quick: one command, plain Markdown files, nothing to build.
- โ ๏ธ The skill wants to agree on what to test before it starts. In a one-shot run I had to settle that in my prompt.
"One skill file, and my coding agent started testing first like a careful engineer."
